Ed Sheeran live in concert at Wembley Stadium review
In the summer of 2018, I went to see Ed Sheeran live in concert at Wembley stadium after purchasing tickets back in October 2017 for my mum’s birthday.
Unfortunately, due to having a hip operation and problems with her kidney stent, she could not make the trip from Cornwall to Wembley in London. I took my sister to my mum’s place and met up with my aunt and her partner.
We chose to go on the last evening of the 3-night Wembley stint of the “Divide” world tour, and we were amazed how Ed Sheeran sounded, despite him suffering from losing his voice and sipping back honey, lemon and ginger.
Sheeran belted out hits from his latest album to 80,000 fans.
He sang hits from his latest album, such as Nancy Mulligan, Galway Girl, Shape of you and Castle on the hill, and songs from his debut album The A-Team and Sing.
Sheeran told fans to sing as loud as they could, even if they couldn’t sing in tune, and if you didn’t know the words, you could make them up.
The Suffolk singer described the gig as being so loud that he could hear the floor move.
I found it fascinating how one solo artist can make good music using his feet to operate loop pedals and record himself slapping and strumming the guitar. He sings the main vocal and adds another guitar while the looped recordings are played in the background.
Having attended many gigs over the past few years, Ed Sheeran is up there with the best musicians.
The Castle on the Hill star will be playing to another sell-out stadium as he will be playing for four nights in Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in Cardiff starting from June 21st until June 24th.
