Would you purchase the Ebac 3850e Dehumidifier?
I was sent this Ebac 3850e dehumidifier from the Ebac 3000 series dehumidifier to test out after years of using a budget dehumidifier.
Here are some essential things you need to know before investing in the Ebac 3850e dehumidifier:

Smart technology

Cons
It’s bulky and heavy
There are no wheels to move it around
It makes a loud noise before cutting out when turned on for a while
Is the Ebac loud?
You might not want to put the dehumidifier in the same room you sleep in or watch the television in because it’s pretty noisy and is just slightly louder than the average refrigerator. On its standard-setting, the Ebac 3850e has a noise output of 46dB.
There is a quiet mode, but it reduces the noise output at the expense of a slower water extraction rate.
Water Extraction
Ebac has a high water extraction capacity of 21 litres per day, equivalent to 37 pints. Most households would only need to empty the water tank twice a day.
The Ebac 3850e is fantastic for removing water from the air in warm conditions and can quickly dry out your home.
This is efficient for a home with a temperature of 15C (59F), but it’s not the best choice for colder rooms such as a garage or other unheated rooms.
Energy Efficiency
The Ebac 3850e has smart technology, so the machine runs in auto mode and detects environmental conditions. When the dehumidifier needs to be turned off, it cuts out automatically.
Ebac is excellent for energy efficiency, and it can remove large amounts of moisture from the air without eating up the pounds on your energy bills. It has a maximum power consumption of 320W when high power and fan speed modes are active.
Ebac are a UK company, so the dehumidifiers are explicitly made for the British climate than other dehumidifiers.
Is the Ebac 3850e good value for the money?
Suppose you have a large and damp house, then you will pay more for a dehumidifier than a smaller house. However, at just £189.00 on Amazon, the Ebac is a lot cheaper than its previous price, £249.99.
Conclusion
The Ebac 3850e markets itself as being an excellent choice for larger homes. I don’t have a huge home, but this dehumidifier is more than enough for a three-bedroom semi-detached house.
One of the few faults I found was that the Ebac is heavy and looks bulky. It would have been better if wheels were added. It’s also quite loud, significantly just before it cuts out.
However, few dehumidifiers on today’s market will keep up with the water extraction, and you shouldn’t need to move the Ebac 3850e about too much as it does the job in both smaller and larger homes.
The colours of the dehumidifier will also blend in nicely whatever room you decide to keep it in.
