UK music festivals every fan should put in their diary!
It might only be the first week of February, but after all that rain and cold weather we have been experiencing, many of us music fans will be looking forward to summer UK music festivals.
Here are some festivals in the UK taking place this year and reasons why every festival goer should put the dates in their diaries:
Reading and Leeds Festivals
When: August 24-26 2018
Venues: Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Leeds

Last Year’s Reading and Leeds festivals witnessed former Black Sabbath frontman, Ozzy Osborne, Avenged Sevenfold and Guns N’ Roses take to the stage.
Previous bands that have headlined the world’s oldest festival include; The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, The Who, Cream, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Genesis, Iron Maiden, The Jam, The Police, Status Quo, The Pogues, Blur, Pulp, Muse, The Cure, Radiohead, The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro and Oasis.
American top names such as Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, AC/DC, Metallica, Guns n’ Roses, Eminem, Nirvana, Hole, Foo Fighters, Blink-182, The Strokes, Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers have also headlined the festivals.
Download Festival
Download festival is known as the most prestigious hard rock and heavy metal festival in the world, Download took over from the legendary Monsters of Rock Festival at Derby’s Donington Park.
Its three days packed with the most prominent names from the 70s right up to the newest generation.

Isle of Wight
The very first Isle of Wight festival saw 600,000 descend upon the island in 1970, with a line up that included Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Who and Joni Mitchell.
This summer the festival will welcome Depeche Mode, The Killers, Kasabian, and Liam Gallagher who will perform alongside The Script, Van Morrison, James Bay, Blossoms and more.

BESTIVAL
Bestival moved from its usual Isle of Wight home to Dorset last year, and this year festival-goers can enjoy a circus theme.
The 3-day festival will play host to musicians from across the globe, and headline performances from M.I.A, and London Grammar, with Friday’s headliner still to be announced.
They’ll be joined by disco legends Grace Jones and Chaka Khan, and favourites such as Mura Musa and Jorja Smith.

Boardmasters
The Boardmasters is Cornwall’s biggest music festival which has attracted some big names over the years and this year also looks this way.
They’ve just announced the Chemical Brothers as the first headline act. Also joining the party will be 90s singer Craig David, Irish DJ and television presenter, Annie Mac and English rock band, The Horrors.
