Why dual SIM mobile phones are the future
Mobile Phone’s leaders Samsung is rumoured to be launching dual-SIM mobile phone versions of their Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones.
This may come as a shock to Samsung’s nearest competitor Apple, who are yet to release a dual SIM mobile phone.
The Korean mobile phone company released a dual SIM version of the Galaxy S8 and S8 plus in some European countries last year, and now they will also be releasing the S9 this year.
Here are some great reasons why you need to buy dual SIM mobile phones:
You don’t have to carry around two phones
When you are travelling or on the go, you will want to travel as light as possible. You won’t want to be carrying two separate mobile phones around; buying a Dual SIM mobile phone will take away this hassle.
With dual-SIM mobile phones, you aren’t locked to a network.
One of the best things about dual SIM mobile phones is that you aren’t locked to a network provider, and you can change your SIM cards to suit your plan. If you are travelling internationally, you can also buy a new SIM without unlocking your phone. The last thing you want to do is sign up for a network to be trapped in a plan that allows the network provider to increase the charges.
Keep work and social life separate.
Have a SIM card for business and a different SIM for personal use. Dual-SIM phones are super smart and will let you know which line a call or text is coming through. So you’ll be able to tell the difference between business calls or personal calls before answering the phone.
More with more than one SIM card
If you are with more than one network, you increase your chances of coverage. So, if you have broken down and you can’t get a signal with a network, at least you can use your backup SIM to come to the rescue.
You can switch calls.
Owning mobile phones with two sims allows you to talk on one line and still receive a call from the other card. This means that you can place one of the calls on hold and answer the other instead of going straight to voicemail.
According to an article in Android Headlines, “References to a dual-SIM version of the handset has been spotted on Samsung’s website in Germany. Samsung will make the handset’s official at Mobile World Congress next month on the 25th of February; the devices will go on sale in March”.
Samsung is expected to start taking pre-orders for the handsets on the 2nd of March, and then the devices will launch on the 16th of March 2018.
