Reviewing my new iPhone SE

apple-iphone-se_

I decided to purchase an iPhone SE after unpacking my bags, looking in my car and asking my sister to look inside and outside her house to find my iPhone 5s.

The last time I saw my iPhone 5s was when I called my mum before I left around 2.30 pm on Saturday.

I left my sister’s house in Exeter around 3 pm. I remember putting my phone into another bag to have the phone in my bag on the passenger seat next to me.

I arrived home around 5 pm in the dark, and it was wet and windy, so I had to carry my bags and walk further than usual because the gate was locked.

I wanted to phone my sister to tell her that I had arrived home ok and panicked as soon as I couldn’t find my phone in any of my bags, car or coat pocket.

My phone wasn’t just a phone. My business accounts are linked to it. I started looking at phones as I was planning an upgrade this year; however, I wasn’t planning on changing my phone until the summer.

I usually change my phone every two years, and I had this phone for less than two years.

I initially looked at the iPhone 6s, but it’s still a little expensive at £389.99.

I chose the iPhone SE because it was an affordable upgrade from the iPhone 5s, and it’s the same size, so it isn’t tricky trying to get used to a smaller and more compact screen.

My father ordered the phone online as an early birthday present for me.

iPhone SE camera

Being a blogger, Vlogger and photographer, one of the most important features I look for on the phone is photo quality.

I was amazed to see how a 12-megapixel sensor can be impressive with its quick focusing.

The SE also has the same camera and processor as the 6S; it shares 4K video recording at 30 frames per second.

Not only that, but it comes with the excellent slo-mo video recording that lets you shoot at a whopping 240fps for 720p and 120fps at 1080p resolutions.

The front camera is less impressive. Instead of the 5-megapixel sensor on the iPhone 6S, it’s a disappointing 1.2-megapixel one.

Retina Flash allows the iPhone SE’s screen to light up three times more brightly than my iPhone 5s, so I can enjoy some light when taking selfies in the dark.

Since the iPhone 8 and iPhone X were brought out at the end of 2017, the iPhone SE price has been reduced to £299.99 in stores like Curry’s and Argos.
