The benefits of owning a Canon IXUS 180

Black Canon IXUS 180

In the summer I purchased a Canon IXUS 180 from Curry’s because I wanted a light camera to use for making YouTube videos.

I originally wanted the Canon G7X, but for a newbie vlogger, I thought that over £500 was a lot of money to spend, so my dad and his mate persuaded me to buy the Canon IXUS 180.

The Canon IXUS 180 isn’t the right camera for vlogging. However, it does take good photos and videos and is lighter than carrying my SLR Pentax K50 around.

Here are some of the benefits of owning a Canon IXUS 180:

The camera is slim, light and easy to carry

This compact and stylish Canon IXUS 180 camera is easy to carry and features a 24mm ultra-wide 10x optical zoom lens with a 20x ZoomPlus. The quality of the photos and movies is pretty good considering this camera only cost me £110.

Instant HD movies

This camera is ideal for beginner photographers and vloggers. This camera would make a great Christmas present for the kids as it’s easy to use. With a touch of a button, you can shoot HD movies in (720p) in MP4. Using the optical zoom you can enjoy sharp and steady results due to the dynamic image stabiliser.

Purchase the Canon IXUS 180 and choose your colour

One of the best things about this camera is the fact that it comes in red, black and blue. Not only is this camera a reasonable price, but it’s also very stylish, and you don’t have to go for a standard black camera.

Model Village

You can connect your camera to your mobile phone by using Wi-Fi with Dynamic NFC and enjoy easy sharing and transferring photos and movies via the Canon Camera Connect app. You can also capture those memorable group shots or selfies with wireless Remote Shooting from your smart device.

Overall **** 4/5

This camera would be great if it had a flip screen or a front-facing camera, so I can see myself when I’m vlogging. The Canon G7X is still a bit expensive, so I’m currently looking out for cheaper alternatives during the Black Friday sale.

You can now purchase the Canon IXUS 180 in black from Amazon for £139.99 in red for £125 and in blue from £124.99.
